Care Instructions:
- Safety First Read all instructions before use. Do not leave a lit fire pit unattended. Always use in a well-ventilated area. Keep out of reach of children and pets. Place the fire pit on a stable, heat-resistant surface. Never use flammable liquids (e.g., gasoline, lighter fluid) to start the fire. How to Use Your S'mores Fire Pit 1. Fuel: Use only the recommended fuel for your fire pit, typically rubbing alcohol (70 to 91%), ethanol gel, or a similar non-toxic gel fuel. Do not overfill the stainless steel fuel cup. 2. Lighting: Carefully ignite the fuel using a long lighter or a match. The flame may be hard to see at first. 3. Roasting: Use our long-handled skewer to roast marshmallows. Keep hands and clothing away from the flame. 4. Extinguishing: To extinguish the flame, use the provided snuffer tool to cover the fuel cup. Never use water to put out the fire. 5. Cool Down: Allow the fire pit to cool completely before touching or moving it. The unit will be hot for a while after the flame is out. Cleaning and Care The fire pit features a porous cement surface and a wood serving tray. • Porous Cement Surface: To clean the porous cement, simply use a soft, dry cloth or brush to remove any dust or debris. Do not use water or cleaning liquids, as the material is porous and can be stained. Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners. • Wood Serving Tray: Wipe the wood tray with a damp cloth to clean. 1 Do not soak the wood in water or place it in the dishwasher. To maintain the wood and prevent it from drying or cracking, you can periodically apply a food-safe mineral oil. 2 • Stainless Steel Components: Once the fire pit is completely cool, you can clean the stainless steel fuel cup and skewers with a solution of mild dish soap and warm water. Use a soft cloth or sponge, and be sure to rinse and dry thoroughly to prevent water spots. Troubleshooting • Low Flame: Add more fuel, but only after the unit has completely cooled and the flame is out. • Soot: Soot is normal. Clean with a soft, dry cloth. If you notice a lot of soot, you might be using too much fuel or an incorrect type of fuel. • Discoloration: It is normal for the stainless steel to develop a golden or blue "patina" after prolonged use due to the intense heat. This does not affect the performance of the fire pit. Proper Fuel Disposal • After the unit has cooled completely, any remaining fuel in the cup should be disposed of properly. • Do not pour unused fuel down the drain. • For small amounts, you can allow the fuel to evaporate in a safe, well-ventilated outdoor area away from any ignition sources. • For larger quantities, consult your local hazardous waste disposal guidelines for proper disposal procedures.
